P.O.S.H.

A love of food and cooking goes hand-in-hand with a love of dishes/glasses/serveware, n'est-ce pas? If you love to cook beautiful things, it seems only natural to also want to serve them in a beautiful way. So while this post isn't technically about food or cooking, it's about an important part of the process.

P.O.S.H. is an adorable shop a few blocks away from my apartment. It's quite dangerous because I want to buy everything in there. If only I had the cabinet space...and the $$. They sell a lot of vintage hotel and restaurant china and flatware, and flea market goodies. But they have lots of other odds and ends. And if you don't live in Chicago, they sell most of the items in the store online.

They have vintage hotel flatware:

And some very fancy silver:

A lot of the things in the store are French, like these little bistro tip plates:

Here's some of their selection of restaurant china, as well as plain white dishes in every shape and size:

And some fancier, very pretty china:

This picture is a little dark, but I had to include it because I really love these. They're jadeite cake stands, glasses, and there's a pitcher too which isn't in the picture. The cake stands also come in pink milk glass.

And, some very cute tomato salt and pepper shakers, and dish towels.

P.O.S.H. is at 513 N. State Street, between Ohio and Ontario.
